My wife and I were looking for a solution to our cat’s litter box being so stinky and difficult to keep away from our dogs. We decided to make a tunnel from the kitchen to an enclosure in the garage where the litter box could live, and had a Gorm shelving unit in the garage we used for raw materials.
The cat door is by Hale. It is a two flap wall door that was *not* particularly easy to install into the wall.
The enclosure is the single Gorm unit, cut into two sections and affixed to the wall studs side-by-side. The remaining shelf was cut up to create the angle brackets and the sistering plates to hold the sections up and together. Deer wire stapled to the perimeter and a plywood door were added to keep our cat from roaming free in the garage.
