A longtime fashion and beauty publicist, Winnie opened her Manhattan boutique, Warm, in the spring of 2012 with her photo-agent husband, Rob Magnotta. “It’s an ode to our collective love of skate and surf culture, fashion, travel, and style,” she says. Thoughtfully curated by the duo for urban hippies, the shop’s luxe beauty, fashion, and home items are “special, often handcrafted, and hard to find,” she adds. From the $20 flip-flops typically sold at Hawaiian hardware stores to the $7,000 Elder Statesman blankets, “every piece in the store is exceptionally well made, and something that Rob and I genuinely love.” Here’s how to copy Winnie’s beachy glow:
Sunscreen: “We escape to the beach as often as possible—family surf trips to Costa Rica are pure bliss—and sun protection is everything. For my face, I’m loyal to EIR NUC Surf Mud Pro Stick SPF 50—it’s organic, smells great, and works well around my eyes.”
Skincare: ”I use Colbert MD Illumino Face Oil, which is superhydrating and packed with essential oils and anti-aging actives.”
Hair: “I love the texture and messiness salt water gives my hair, so I hold off on shampooing for as long as possible. To circumvent the drying aspect of salt and sun, I oil my ends and scalp with Shu Uemura Art of Hair Essence Absolue Nourishing Protective Oil before heading out.”
Bath: “Cool, detoxifying baths are such a treat. I spike the water with Dr. Singha’s Mustard Bath. With eucalyptus, wintergreen, and thyme, it’s bracing and really rejuvenating.”
Fragrance: “My good friend, perfumer Sarah Horowitz, made an ocean-inspired fragrance oil for me to wear on my wedding day. Rob and I met surfing, so it was really personal and perfect. It smells like a day at the beach—sunscreen and neoprene, musky and salty. I was always getting compliments on it, so when we opened the store, we decided to make it our signature scent, and call it Warm. It’s now our best seller. The rollerball applicator makes it perfect for girls on the move.”
