Having just moved in our new house we were looking for an inexpensive way to store A LOT of clothes in our Master Bedroom…and quickly. With big dreams and a little budget, we decided to re-use the EXPEDIT Shelving units I’m pretty sure I’ve now had in every apartment since college. I was down for that, but they desperately needed a change. Or should I say, I did.
I looked for interesting storage bins high and low, but nothing was falling into the budget. So, I resorted back to IKEA and decided I could get clever with their DRONA boxes.
With some leftover Interior House Paint (Benjamin Moore – White Dove), a roll of painters tape, a brush and a drop cloth I got to work. I aligned the tape from opposing top to bottom corners and then painted one triangle. The white vs. the contrasting black required 2-3 coats on each. But, they dried super quick.
Each bin started to look pretty cool, but overall the pattern impact of 16 lined up nice and tidy adds so much pattern and interest to our room.
