DIY Menorah Place Cards By: Sarah Adiutori

unnamed

I am a bit type A, so I absolutely adore lists, my label maker and a clear sense of order at dinner parties. Enter: Place cards! They are a host’s best friend for wrangling partygoers and they allow your guests to avoid the “Where will I sit?” shuffle, while also giving you peace of mind that you have enough space for all of your guests to sit comfortably. My guests have come to expect a little craftiness adorning their place setting when they attend a dinner party at my house, and they seem to love taking those projects home after the meal. Since Hanukkah is right around the corner, I decided to create these Menorah Place Cards using birch veneer plywood. They are sturdy enough to last for at least eight nights of celebrating. -Sarah

-Embossing heat tool

 -Silver embossing powder

 -Embossing ink pad

-Menorah stamp (I used this set)

 -White card stock

 -Writing instrument (I used a fine-tip Sharpie)

4. Using the heat tool, keep the tool about three inches from the stamped area and heat-set the embossing powder (this occurs when the powder changes color).

DIY Project: Apple Stamp Table Runner By: Sarah Adiutori

Design*Sponge DIY Apple Stamp Runner

With fall in full swing, it seems that everyone is heading out to their local orchard and picking apples. The after effects of those trips are an abundance of indulgent desserts flooding my Instagram feed. Instead of using all of the apples to make pies and other yummy treats, I thought why not decorate my kitchen table? Using an apple stamp I made myself, I created a simple and chic table runner that’s perfect for fall. I stuck to a black and white color palette so the overall look steers clear of “elementary school art class” and stays firmly in my personal style. Whether you pick the apples from a tree or from the produce section, this is a great DIY project that will instantly add a bit of seasonal flair to your home. -Sarah Adiutori
