Hackers Help: Has anyone tried cutting Oxberg glass door to fit half-height Billy? By: HotShot

There is one thing about Billy I find very bugging. Why is there no Oxberg glass door for the half-height (41 3/4 “) Billys? There is only a solid wooden door for that size.

Then the idea of cutting the big Oxberg glass doors to fit the small Billys. I measured it and it should be possible.

Has anybody ever tried that?

Confetti + Donuts By: Grace Bonney

This weekend we found carpenter ants and wasps upstairs, heard something rummaging around in our attic and just before bed I managed to mess up our toilet and it overflowed into the bathroom and hallway. Whoops. So to overcome my major case of the Mondays, I’m starting the day with this sweet bit of (almost) literal design candy: donut and confetti napkins at Leif. A few of these and some actual apple cider donuts from up the street and I think I might just kick these Monday “time to call the plumber” blues. xo, grace

Ikea Besta Hack with Decals By: IH guest

This is a custom buffet I made for the entryway in my home using the Ikea Besta shelf unit (24″by25″) and smaller Besta shelf (23x25in)

I purchased 3 of the wood finish doors for the Besta.

I went to home depot and purchased braces for the bottom and the back to screw the two units together.

I purchased 4 10-inch Hairpin Legs from ebay seller nina_lynne who makes custom pieces from Florida.

After screwing everything together I propped the unit upright and added a custom Chevron decal made specifically for ikea units from etsy seller (http://ift.tt/1IjK6bu) who also will do custom pieces for any piece of furniture with easy to use removable adhesive vinyl.

Pretty easy hack and a great spin on modern furniture with the added decal.
