Hackers Help: Top for BRIMNES kitchen island By: _sosweet_

I have a relatively narrow but long kitchen, and I wanted to hack a BRIMNES in order to create a kitchen island. All similar hacks which I found here mount the top/table on two or more BRIMNES, while for the space I have I’d need to develop the island in length, fixing one of the short sides of the top on the BRIMNES and installing GERTON legs on the other (they are the only legs high enough for the BRIMNES).

Unfortunately, BRIMNES is 78cm wide and I’ll need a 80/85cm cm wide top. The only one which seems could fit is the TORSBY table top (85cm x 135cm), but it’s way too long for me. Ideally, I’d need something 110cm (max 120cm) long.

Do you have any idea for an alternative? The glass TORSBY is slightly shorter, but I couldn’t fix the legs on it.

Otherwise, has anybody ever tried to trim a TORSBY? Is it possible to do it?

Teeny Tiny Little Shelf for Electric Toothbrush By: Alexa Mahnken

Materials: BJÄRNUM Folding hook

I repurposed the Bjarnum Folding Hook to use it as a little tiny shelf for my electric toothbrush to get it off the countertop and get it closer to the outlet. I had the Folding Hook on hand, but you could also use the regular Bjarnum Hook.

I hung it, put velcro on the shelf part, put velcro on the bottom of the toothbrush charger, and voila!

Hackers help: How do I mimic the excellent Lofted / Raised MALM Storage Bed converts to 18″ of Storage? By: Joy

Hello all. I loved the idea of raising up the MALM Storage Bed so much, I have purchased one. My problem is that I am not handy. I need help with this project.

I live in the Washington, DC area and don’t know what to do first, so I am asking for help here. Should I post an ad for help on my local craigslist too? I see many people advertise on Craigslist as IKEA furniture assembly experts. Would they be the right fit for this project?

Final result: Hiding stackable top-load washer/dryer in AKURUM high cabinet By: 2catou

2catou asked for Hackers Help and here is the final result of the project to hide a stackable washer/dryer inside an AKURUM cabinet. ~ Jules

The washer dryer stand does not touch the cabinet, neither do the machines (which is a good thing since they shake quite a bit.)

There was even enough room to put in one of the shelves.

Metal brackets directly into floor – plenty of room for the washer/dryer stand.

The back of the AKURUM cabinet is not attached to the wall.

There was room for one of the shelves – great for folding laundry.
