Multi-configuration Rotating Coffee Table By: BrianLyons

Materials: 3 Ikea Lack side tables 55x55cm; 1 Perfekt plinth; 2 lazy susan bearings; one pot of strong contact adhesive.

Step 1: Cut the plinth into 4 equal lengths and attach together to form a square base. Cut a piece of mdf to size and nail onto the top.

Step 2: Glue one of the Lack table tops to the mdf.

Step 3: Cut the Lack table legs and glue together to form a square. This part will be used to raise up the uppermost table top.

Step 4: Use glue to sandwich the lasy susan bearings between two matching pieces of mdf. Glue one side to the riser and glue the whole thing to the table-top. Glue the other lazy susan sandwich in place.

Step 5: Cut some table legs and fill with concrete to act as counter-weights to overhanging parts of the rotating table tops. These are inserted into the rotating table tops in the corner where the table is attached to the lazy susan bearing.

Step 6: Glue the remaining two table tops to the lazy susan bearings (you may need to weigh them down until the gule sets).

3 Ikea Tarva Dressers into 1 Shaker style dresser By: Lindsey Ralston - Impatiently Crafty - http://ift.tt/1dLC5My

Materials: TARVA dresser x 3

Here’s what I did:

1. Used a chop saw to cut off the bottom of the skinny 2×2 legs (before assembling dresser) and replaced them with 4×4′s cut to 4″ high.


2. Filled the dresser handle holds with wood filler and sanded to remove essentially the existing hole from the drawer fronts


3. Used firring strips to frame out the front of each drawer to make it look “shaker” style. I installed them using wood glue and a brad nailer


4. Used a 1×2 piece of pine to connect the dressers in the front & back, attached them with a brad nailer.


5. Built a top that went the length of the 3 dressers so that it made them one unit.


6. Filled all nail holes with wood filler and lightly sanded with 120 grit.


7. Used Minwax Dark walnut stain to stain everything but the drawers and sealed it with a satin polyurethane.


8. Made a cardboard template (tutorial for leather drawer pulls coming soon) and drilled holes for new leather pulls.


9. Painted the drawer fronts all white.


10. Installed leather pulls with carriage bolts and wing nuts


11. Unpacked all my clothes and put them in my new fancy pants dresser!

Ribba legs for Besta By: pablingc

Materials:

• RIBBA aluminium frames 12×17 cm 4 units


• BESTA furniture 120×60


• Two faces adhesive tape


• Adhesive felt.

I have a BESTA furniture as TV set but I have a problem when I open the door, the door trip over the carpet and I have to move the carpet so I thought of adding legs but the BESTA legs are horrible and the underframe for BESTA is very expensive so I used the RIBBA frames.

I removed the glass and left only the frame. I fixed on the upper face of the frame the adhesive tape and the felt pads on the underside and this is the result.

I used mainly Knuff storage unit, Nipen legs and Albert shelving unit elements to strengthen the structure and mount the legs.

Bathroom Vanity and Medicine Cabinet By: Architect Al

This is a funny site…Just stumbled on it. I don’t know the names of the items I used, because I did this so long ago (2003 to be exact).

The “bathroom vanity” pictured is actually a kitchen or utility cabinet they used to sell. When we moved into our house, we needed more kitchen cabinets, but didn’t want to spend a lot of money because we knew we were going to gut the house. So, we bought that cabinet and top and had it as a freestanding unit. After we tore apart the house and rebuilt it, we were broke so we couldn’t afford a bathroom vanity so we re-purposed this cabinet. The plumber cut the sink in and installed it, along with the faucet. A few years later, I added some shelves internally as well as a pull-out tray for better usage.

Regarding the medicine cabinets…those actually are Ikea medicine cabinets. The asymmetrical placement was done to distract from the fact that the electrician didn’t center the electrical box on the wall (he centered it on the rough plumbing…DUH!). So I created a playful arrangement that is off center in the space, but does not highlight the electrical error.

…did you notice the cracked countertop at the faucet? I did that about 8 months ago. The faucet was loose and I was tightening it up from underneath, Forgetting that the countertop is HOLLOW core, I overtightened and cracked it. OOPS!

Who doesn’t know this Ikea evergreen? Unassuming and safe, which makes it fit in perfectly into any interior…but I decided to take Ektorp out of its comfort zone and make it into a sofa with character!

I dyed the beige cover black, a little unevenly to make it a bit more cool and laid back. Then I got rid of the back cushions and replaced them with a freestyle mix of pillows of various sizes…and voila!

Simple Nightstand Remix By: joy

Materials: Hemnes nightstand

I had two black/brown Hemnes nightstands that were begging for a facelift. I recently replaced my dark Hemnes dressers with a mid-century pair, but I really liked the shape and function of the nightstands, so I decided to aim for a trendy white & wood combo.

I started by sanding off the black finish on the drawers with my palm sander. Then I added a rich walnut stain and poly coat.

I primed and painted the rest of the nightstand white. It took several coats to get complete coverage over the black.

I added some brass bar pulls from Anthropology, and Voila! New nightstands.
